The results are in from the 2011 WORLD BEER AWARDS, and we have some of the worlds best beers. The judging is conducted blind, with the regional style heats held in Europe. Once style winners are selected from each region, they are pitted against other regional winners to select the World’s Best Style.

UNIBROUE DON DE DIEU Cloudy gold, thick head. Lemon citrus nose, creamy and chewy. Citrus flavours, fruity; peach, banana. Wheat notes, cherries in the middle. Some phenolic and high alcohols. Hop add spice. Sweet, lingering finish. |

WEIHENSTEPHANER HEFEWEISSBIER DUNKEL Reddish brown. Full nose of cherry spices with vanilla. No carbonation, strong, sour alcohol. Dried fruit, more sherries! Puckering. Should be warmed, complex. Sweet cough syrup with slight tart tangy finish. |

WEIHENSTEPHANER VITUS Aroma of banana, cloves and wheat. Floral and citrusy. Palate of banana, clove and sweet fermented fruit. Fruity bubblegum, big spicy flavors. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Full and warming. Lively carbonation and a long finish. |

BAVIK WITTEKERKE ROSE Pink haze. Huge raspberry aromas, brassy, slightly sour. wheat notes coming through. More raspberries on the palate. Very sweet, quaffable with a tingle of carbonation. |
