The Region: Mendocino County

Nestled on California’s North Coast, Mendocino County combines cool coastal AVAs like Anderson Valley with warmer inland regions near the Russian River. It’s recognized for sustainability and organic winemaking; nearly one-quarter of its vineyard acreage is certified organic, earning it the reputation of “California’s organic wine Mecca”

SKETCHBOOK PINOT NOIR: Rich, ruby-red in color, the Sketchbook Pinot Noir greets you with aromas of ripe raspberry, red currant, and a hint of freshly picked plum. On the palate the vibrant berry flavors are complemented by layers of dark cocoa, tart dried cherries, and a kiss of roasted hazelnut. Bright and lively, with smooth tannins, it is a wine of delicate balance, weaving together lush fruit with subtle spicy notes.

SKETCHBOOK CABERNET SAUVIGNON: Deep, dark plum in color with aromas of blackberry, fruit compote and underlying hints of plum.Notes of plum carry through to the palate, complimented by flavors of dark cherry, nutmeg, warm spice and dark chocolate. A medium-bodied wine with soft vanilla notes, and elegant tannins, leading to a subtle cherry wood finish.

SKETCHBOOK CHARDONNAY: Pale, golden straw in color with enticing aromas of apple, mandarin orange, and lemon cream pie with hints of cedar and vanilla. On the palate, bright flavors of tangerine and citrus are balanced by rounder notes of pear, dried apricot, and toasty brioche. A medium-weight wine with nice crisp acidity and juicy fruit, complimented by elegant oak tannins that impart soft creaminess.
