Ann Arbor, MI – September 9, 2025 – Rave Associates, a leading importer and distributor of fine beer and wine based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is proud to announce the installation of a new solar array. The project, completed in partnership with local contractor Harvest Solar of Jackson, Michigan, underscores Rave Associates’ commitment to sustainability, long-term operational stability, and innovative leadership within the beverage distribution industry.
The solar array has a capacity of 198.8 kWdc and is estimated to generate approximately 224,740 kWh annually. Over 30 years, the system is projected to deliver $1,200,428 in utility bill savings while reducing the company’s carbon footprint. The estimated CO2 offset is equivalent to preventing emissions from burning 4,833,858 pounds of coal, helping Rave Associates take a measurable step toward environmental stewardship.
While the installation presented challenges, including significant initial capital investment, consideration of building structural loads, navigating local zoning requirements, and planning for future growth, Rave Associates saw these obstacles as opportunities to reinforce its commitment to responsible business practices.
The benefits of the solar array extend well beyond energy savings. By capitalizing on a 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit and leveraging Accelerated Depreciation, the company has reduced its project ROI to just 7.3 years. Additional advantages include long-term utility cost stability, enhanced depreciation value, and positioning Rave Associates as an innovative industry leader in sustainability.
